PARADISE LOST Confirm Split With EMI, Announce US Releases, Upcoming DVD
February 20, 2002As exclusively reported here on February 18th, PARADISE LOST have finally confirmed via an official press release that they have in fact parted ways with EMI Records after a two-album collaboration with the label (1999's Host and the 2001's Believe In Nothing). Here is the group's statement in its entirety:
Further to rumors on the Internet that PARADISE LOST have left EMI Records, we can confirm that it's true. However, a new record deal has already been negotiated, and the bands forthcoming album is still scheduled for a September release. Details of the label will be announced on completion of the deal.
There is also a hive of activity concerning PARADISE LOST's back catalogue going on. In the US, Koch [Records] are planning to re-release Draconian Times with 2 extra tracksthe SMITHS cover 'How soon is now' and 'Fear', as well as re-releasing the best of album Reflection. This will be swiftly followed by the US release of the 2 EMI albums: Host and B.I.N.
Also, in Europe, Music For Nations [Records] and the band are currently going through material for a scheduled DVD release. This is likely to be called Evolve and will feature live footage, promo videos and behind the scenes footage. More details to follow.
